Master Spell Caster

Concept

Becoming a Master Spellcaster is too easy in the Sims 4. Like everyone esle, I start by going to the Magical Realm, meeting a Mage, and becoming a SC. After that I always make my Sim stay there (for 2-3 days) asking for spells and potions from the 3 mages on repeat. I stop long enough to pee, eat (from their kitchen) and nap on a sofa. By the end of 3 days I know all spells and potions. Never do I study a magical Tome. Never do I experiment with the cauldron. And once I know all spells and potions, the only ones I ever use are the potion to refill my needs, and the spells Delicioso, Scruberoo, and Repairio. Rarely will I use Burgliate. I always have the same wand, broom and familiar, which 90% of the time I don't use.

I decided to use the Tomes and Cauldron instead of spamming the mages, but still found my completionist mindset taking over. I would force my Sim to read the Tome, even though they were starving, needed to pee, and were exhausted. They would pee on themselves, and rather than let them shower, I would force them to keep reading until they passed out. I was in a rush to get all the spells.

If you are someone who does the complete opposite of me, then this will not be a challenge for you at all. But, if you are like me, then challenging yourself to slow down and utilize all the pack has to offer may not be so easy. But after doing it, I think it is worth it.

So that's what this challenge is about; utilizing all the pack has to offer, while giving your sim a happy, comfortable life.

Getting Started

  • Start like you normally would by going to the Magic Realm, getting Mote Sight, collecting motes, turning them in to a Mage, and transforming into a Spellcaster.

  • Pick ONE Mage to transform you. Do not speak to the other two at all.

  • You may only speak to the Mage so much as to acquire Mote Sight and be transformed.

  • Do not engage in further conversation with the Mage. Get transformed and get out of there.

  • Purchase a wand, broom/mop and familiar from the Magical Stores.

Rules

  • Now that you are a SC you may not speak to any of the Mages. Not even if you randomly run into one of them out in the world.

    • Once you have learned all you can from the Tomes, then and only then, can you talk to the Mages, build a friendship and acquire the last 3 Ultimate spells.

  • You must purchase a familiar from the store in the beginning, but you can also steal the two available ones.

  • You can bind as many familiars as you want, or just put them in your home, but you must always be bound to at least one.

  • You must always have your familiar present when experimenting on the cauldron, reading Tomes and Dueling.

    • They do not need to be present when you randomly cast spells on others.

  • You cannot search for Tomes in the bookshelves, you must purchase them from the Magical Store...not from your home computer.

  • You learn from reading Tomes and experimenting on the cauldron.

    • You CANNOT practice the magic! (Otherwise you may learn all new spells from that which would once again render Tomes useless).

  • You must experiment on the cauldron once a day (at least).

  • If you get cursed. Accept it. No cheats to prevent or remove curses. Figure out the proper way to remove them.

  • You must fight another spell caster at least once a week.

    • You may fight for whatever prize you wish.

  • Once you learn a spell, you must use it once a week.

    • For practical spells, they must replace the normal route. EX: once you learn the spell delicioso, you may no longer cook on the stove; you must always use that spell to eat.

  • Once you learn a potion you must drink the first one.

  • You must make at least one of every potion you know each week, and gift them to other Sims or sell them.

    • You can open a store if you'd like.

  • You must collect every SC artifact.

    • You can acquire most of them from the Magical Store.

    • Once you have acquired all spells and are now talking to the Mages (see rule above), you may now duel them for artifacts.

    • No Debug cheating to get them.

    • NOTE: There are recolors of each wand that typically do not show up in game, but still count toward the collection (bug). You don't need to get all the recolors. But if you really want to, AFTER you have acquired the wand in game, then you can bb.showhiddenobjects to get that specific wands' other colors.

  • Must interfere with relationships using magic at least once per ability.

    • Ex: Break up a friendship, make two people fall in love, force someone to be your friend or lover...etc.

  • You may not use any mods that help with your rank, remove curses or prevent death.

  • You can use other SC mods/cc such as:

    • New wands

    • New familiars

    • Deadly spells

    • Make cats/dogs into familiars

    • Etc.

As for your home...

  • You may use money cheats to set up your home however you like in the beginning. Remember not to buy any wands, tomes, brooms/mops or familiars though! Once you have your home the way you like, give yourself $10,000 to start with.

    • You must have a job to make money (no cheating funds).

      • You can quit this job if your potion selling is booming.

  • You may have whatever family you want. (No Mages!) I actually recommend having at least one extra person in the home in case you die from an overcharge (they can help to bring you back).

    • Bringing you back must be done without cheats or mods. So your main SC may be a ghost for some time before their housemate can find a way to revive them.

Challenge Ends when you are a fully realized Spell Caster!
